Dr. Slonim graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tel Aviv University Medical School, Israel, in 1974. She received a grant from the French government to spend a year in Paris doing research in psychopharmacology with Professor Pierre Deniker. She graduated with a diploma in psychotherapy after a three-year course of study, and underwent three years of didactical Jungian analysis. After six years of residency, in 1980, Dr. Slonim passed the psychiatric board exams in Israel with distinction and came to Los Angeles.

She did a fellowship in psychiatry in L.A. County USC in 1982. She completed psychiatric residency at UCLA Sepulveda VA Medical Center and in 1992 completed requirements to become Board Certified also in the U.S.
